About the role


This role will be responsible for working across the organization to build and maintain a comprehensive design system for Super.com’s products across web and mobile app. Your designs will help unlock the potential, and speed, for all product teams at Super.com through our design system. You will set the quality standards, guidelines, documentation, and governance to uphold the quality standards of our products. You will think and work strategically, using repeatable and scalable design system elements to bring cohesion across all aspects of the digital product.


What you’ll be working on:
  • As a Principal Product Designer leading the design system across Super.com, you will own the evolution of the design system. You will maintain the components, component library, patterns, stand up processes and guidelines across web and mobile app, and evangelize adoption.
  • You identify, find, implement cross-functional process efficiencies and improvements, and work across the org to implement and improve its use over time.
  • You collaborate closely with peer product designers, brand designers, and engineers on initiatives that improve the experience for our customer, and improve how our product teams design and build day-to-day using the design system.
  • You care about partnering and collaborating effectively through documentation, office hours, and pairing with fellow designers and engineers.
  • You can quickly iterate and communicate ideas across various levels of fidelity, and can receive and provide feedback constructively.
  • You continuously advocate for the importance and value of a cohesive design system within the organization, and foster a culture of design excellence and innovation. You monitor industry trends and best practices to incorporate into the design system.
  • You leverage data and conduct research when relevant to gather feedback to continually improve and evolve the design system and our products.
  • You will collaborate with other designers and engineers to ensure the design system is consistently applied across all products and that it meets the needs and goals of the business. 
  • Help mentor and coach our product design team to elevate the quality of design standards across Super.com products.
  • Help develop team processes and find opportunities to level up our design practice.


Who we’re looking for:
  • 6+ years of product design experience building products & apps and working with engineering teams to take ideas from conception through execution across web and mobile app
  • 2+ years experience in building and maintaining design systems
  • Experience working on “0-1” consumer  products in a startup environment
  • Proven product design skills that value the craft and quality of the visual design and user experience (hierarchy, layout, interactions, etc.)
  • Technical understanding of how to design across various breakpoints, devices, and can bridge the gap between design and code
  • Experience leveraging user research and quantitative data to inform decisions
  • Strong proficiency with Figma (our primary tool) and other tools for design and documentation (Notion, Google suite, confluence, etc.) 
  • Experience mentoring and coaching designers
  • Strong communication, and cross-functional/cross-org collaboration skills, with experience influencing to drive improved user experience

  • Strong visual design skills
  • Experience creating engaging icons and animations that bridge the brand identity, user experience, and business needs
  • Prototyping skills in Figma or other design tools
  • You are on the forefront of industry trends, incorporating best practices while also experimenting with unproven, but potentially game-changing, methods

$141,000 - $204,000 a year
The range is dependent on experience and not inclusive of any other benefits or equity that may exist in your total compensation package.
