ABOUT US:

At Brisk Teaching, we aim to lighten the workload for teachers with AI powered tools that take care of administrative tasks so that teachers can spend more time doing what they love - teaching. Brisk is an AI-powered Chrome extension that simplifies teaching by integrating seamlessly with tools teachers already use like Google Classroom, Docs, Slides, YouTube, and articles. In seconds, teachers can create instructional materials, provide feedback, and evaluate student work - right from where they're already working.

We are a diverse group of technologists, educators, and parents, all united by a passion to improve the lives of educators. With over a decade of collective teaching experience and roles at leading education technology companies like the Chan Zuckerberg Institute, Seesaw Learning, PBS Kids, Clever, NoRedInk, Panorama Education, GoGuardian, and Edulastic, we deeply understand what educators need.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

As the second designer on our team, this is a rare opportunity to shape the future of Brisk’s design culture, processes, and product experiences. You’ll work closely with the founding team and cross-functional partners to build intuitive, engaging solutions that enhance teachers’ and students’ experience in the classroom. You’ll have the autonomy to experiment, move quickly, and make a significant mark on both our product and our growing design team.

YOU WILL:

  • Lead end-to-end product design, from ideation to execution, ensuring engaging and user-centered experiences.

  • Rapidly prototype and iterate on designs based on user feedback, data, and business needs.

  • Collaborate closely with the founding designer, product managers, engineers, and educators to shape innovative learning solutions.

  • Utilize a blend of user research, data analysis, and usability testing to drive design decisions.

  • Be scrappy—move fast, challenge assumptions, and find creative ways to solve design problems with limited resources.

  • Articulate design decisions effectively across teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and enthusiasm.

YOU HAVE:

  • 4+ years of experience in product design and UX/UI.

  • Previous work experience in an early-stage venture-backed company.

  • A strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end design work and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Expertise in Figma.

  • Experience working in fast-paced startup environments with a bias for action.

  • Ability to balance speed and quality—knowing when to perfect and when to ship.

  • Strong understanding of user research, usability testing, and data-driven design.

  • A proactive approach to work and the ability to lead problem-finding and problem-solving.

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.

  • Passion for education and improving teaching and learning experiences.
