RedCliff Ascent is a licensed, accredited wilderness therapy program located in Southern Utah. We have 30+ years of experience using evidence-based practices to help families heal.

As our Clinical Intern, you will be responsible for all therapeutic milieu aspects of the client experience. This includes facilitating therapeutic groups, staff training, quality monitoring, documentation, and coordination with other treatment team members. The Clinical Intern rounds out the services of our Clinical team, creating a robust and consistent therapeutic experience for our students and their families.

RedCliff Ascent and ThreePeaks combine the power of traditional and experiential therapies in a relationship-based model to effectively disrupt unhealthy patterns, assess the underlying issues, and re-engage our students and their families in the therapeutic process. Healthy relationships, novel and challenging experiences, and the incorporation of ceremony and ritual are how we foster healing and create lasting change.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapeutic group services to adolescents, young adults, and families. 
  • Conduct therapeutic groups on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of each week. 
  • Coordinate with and support the treatment team in providing individualized therapeutic groups.  
  • Ensure that proper documentation of therapy is completed in a timely manner, and recorded and stored in the appropriate location.
  • Train and communicate with field staff on therapeutic issues relating to clients.
  • Participate in all relevant weekly and ad hoc meetings. 
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that represents the program well at work and other professional venues. 
  • Be able to articulate clearly our treatment philosophy and how treatment works. 
  • Participate in networking events as requested by the marketing team.
  • Participate in family support activities.
  • Conducts field tours for families and referring professionals.

Please ensure your resume includes education, work experience, certifications, and licenses

  • Currently enrolled in an advanced degree program in a mental health field
  • This may include but is not limited to: MFT, CSW, CMHC, RN, and Psychology
  • Experience providing therapeutic group activities
  • Able to pass criminal investigation background checks
  • Eligible to work in the USA
  • Able to pass motor vehicle record checks
  • Current Utah driver's license (within 30 days of employment)
  • 1st Aid & CPR certified (we may provide)
  • Crisis intervention certified (we may provide)

Preferred

  • Licensed with Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing
  • If licensed, DOPL license must be unrestricted and in good standing
  • Certified as a therapeutic adventure specialist (CTAS)
  • Some wilderness therapy experience as a guide or therapist

  • Fulfill internship requirements for Master's level degree
