Titmouse is seeking a prop designer for a preschool series! The Prop Designer will work with Prop Supervisor and Director(s) to design props for interior and exterior environments in the style of the production.
Estimated Project Length: May 19th, 2024 - September 7th, 2024
Weekly Salary Range (USD): $1600 - 1800, commensurate with experience and skill level
*If the work for this position is performed within the geographical jurisdiction of the collective bargaining agreement, it will be covered by that agreement
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES- Thorough knowledge of composition, value, perspective, shape language and overall design principles.
- Ability to articulate creative ideas and render designs in detail.
- Proficiency with FileMaker Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, Google workplace, Photoshop, and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with different teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced production environment and manage time effectively to meet individual and team deadlines.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, written, e-social skills and professional acumen.
- Ability to work with limited direction and take feedback as tasks progress according to the schedule.
- Actively improve skill set and abilities by keeping aware of current trends, techniques, and art methods.
- PREFERRED: Knowledge of Maya.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Strong drawing ability and a solid sense of design for 2D animation.
- Design props for interior and exterior environments in the style of the
- production.
- Make any changes or revisions and re-submit to Art Director or
- Directors for approval.
- Communicate with Department Coordinator and Production Manager regarding status of work and any problems that arise.
- Support and maintain the artistic vision of all phases of the series from pre-production through final episode delivery.
- Ensure prop assets are of the highest artistic quality and uphold the integrity of the overall series’ aesthetic and artistic vision of the project as a whole.
- Undertake research and information gathering prior to the commencement of new designs based on references and direction given by Art Director.
- Resolve a range of artistic development issues by working with other team members (Color Stylists, Design Assistants, etc.).
- Ask appropriate questions to understand and complete assignments and tasks on schedule.
- Engage in an open dialogue with production management on any potential roadblocks or concerns in delivering assignments on time.
- Support & maintain the artistic vision of all phases of the series from pre-production through final episode delivery.
- Other duties as assigned.
