As a Structural Design Coordinator at Flatiron in Atlanta, you'll take the lead in guiding the design process from the pre-award phase to post-award, working closely with design firms and our internal construction team. This position is crucial in ensuring that our construction designs are not only optimized for efficiency but also cost-effective. You'll evaluate design drawings, collaborate with various departments including Technical Services and construction management to mitigate risks, and engage with external designers and engineers to pinpoint design optimization opportunities. Your communication skills will shine as you participate in weekly taskforce meetings, ensuring all parties have a unified understanding of design plans and budget implications. Keeping track of design progress and cost reporting will be your responsibility, ensuring projects stay on schedule without delays. Your extensive experience in the industry, combined with a degree in Engineering, will be invaluable as you support project management teams and contribute to public information sessions as needed.
