Quality Systems Manager

Union Technologies exists to protect, defend, and ensure the United States remains secure and free—so the West and her allies win. As The Energetics Prime, we are redefining the future of munitions with advanced technologies, resilient supply chains, and a relentless commitment to innovation.

We’re hunting a Quality Systems Manager to build an ironclad QMS from scratch in our steel forging facility, arming U.S. defense with unyielding quality. With 7-10+ years in the game, you’ll lead ISO 9001/AS9100 compliance, wield RCCA tools, and ensure our steel meets the toughest specs. This isn’t a desk job—you’ll be on the shop floor, driving excellence in a high-stakes mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build a QMS for defense-grade steel forgings, locking in ISO 9001/AS9100 compliance.

  • Lead audits and enforce standards to keep our products battle-ready.

  • Use RCCA (8D, 5-Why) to crush defects and non-conformances.

  • Apply SPC and stats tools (Minitab, Excel) to keep processes tight.

  • Leverage metallurgy expertise to ensure steel meets defense specs.

  • Drive lean and Six Sigma to cut waste and sharpen quality.

  • Be the quality point for customers and suppliers, no excuses.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s in Engineering, Metallurgy, or Materials Science.

  • Experience: 7-10+ years in quality management; built ISO 9001/AS9100 systems; defense/ammo experience a plus.

  • Technical Skills: RCCA tools; SPC stats (Minitab); metallurgy mastery.

  • Leadership/Work Style: Hands-on leader; thrives under pressure.

  • Soft Skills: Sharp communicator; proactive problem-solver.

  • Physical Requirements: Stand, walk, lift 50 lbs in a gritty shop with heat and noise.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Defense standards knowledge (MIL-STD, ITAR).

  • NDT experience (ultrasonic, dye penetrant).

  • Six Sigma Black Belt or ASQ CQE.
