Job Summary:
We’re recruiting a fearless Manufacturing Engineering Intern for our facility to support steel forging for U.S. defense. You’ll get your hands dirty with CAD layouts, tool design, and process optimization, helping us sharpen our edge in a high-stakes environment. Key Responsibilities:
Use SolidWorks/AutoCAD to design line layouts for efficient production.
Develop equipment setup and maintenance procedures.
Design tools, jigs, and fixtures to boost metalworking ops.
Document processes and support ISO 9001 efforts.
Analyze workflows and propose lean improvements.
Assist in NDT to ensure material integrity.
Troubleshoot with engineers on the shop floor.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Enrolled in a Bachelor’s in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (sophomore +).
Experience: Coursework/projects in manufacturing a plus.
Technical Skills: Proficient in SolidWorks/AutoCAD; basic metalworking knowledge.
Leadership/Work Style: Eager to learn; proactive team player.
Soft Skills: Analytical; communicative; detail-focused.
Physical Requirements: Lift 25 lbs; work in a gritty shop environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to CNC machining or NDT.
Lean or ISO 9001 knowledge.
Data analysis skills (Excel, Minitab).
