Founded in 2017, Unit8 is a fast-growing Swiss AI and data analytics consulting and services company dedicated to solving complex problems of traditional industries like automotive, chemical, financial services, manufacturing and pharma. We work with some of the biggest organisations in Europe to solve the challenges that directly affect their business - be it operations, finance, manufacturing or R&D. Since our foundation, we have successfully delivered more than 200 projects and have grown to 130+ talented individuals across 5 office locations.

Unit8’s mission is to drive the adoption of AI and Data Science in the non-digital industries and to help accelerate their digital transformation. Are You a team member we are looking for?

Unit8 is looking for a Data & AI Business Development Manager to join our Growth organisation in Lausanne. The purpose of the role is to execute Unit8’s go-to-market and actively drive new business acquisition. You will help our customers obtain value from the latest data & AI technologies by driving an entire lifecycle of customer engagement - from the initial prospecting, via leading business development activities (needs understanding, pre-sales, presentations, proposal build-up) and negotiations & contracting. You will partner with our delivery organisation to onboard new customers and you will play a key role in ensuring customer success.

What You’ll Do

As a Data & AI Business Development Manager within the Growth Team you’ll be faced with the following challenges within a high-growth, fast-moving company:

  • Actively execute Unit8’s GTM to customers to win new customers and projects (quota carrying)
  • Consult new and existing clients on their challenges and needs related to Data & AI
  • End-to-end responsibility for customer acquisition from lead generation to deal signature (you will be assigned a yearly sales quota)
  • Contribute to broader business development by preparing and participating in industry conferences, communities, workshops and events
  • Help our customers leverage Data & AI (including GenAI) technology advancements by identifying the customers’ needs and translating them into value add solutions

You are:

  • Strong track record of business development in IT consulting /services with at least 5+ years of working experience in the domain
  • Proven experience in new business acquisition, preferably in the IT consulting /services space
  • Strong domain knowledge in data, analytics, machine learning, AI and cloud
  • Self driven, can do attitude, fast learner, ready to face challenges as they arise
  • Preferance for technical background
  • Highly organised and independent
  • The ideal candidate is fluent in English (mandatory) and french (mandatory).
  • Great communicator, dynamic and motivated to represent Unit8 externally
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time (mostly Switzerland and DACH region)
