Family and Community Involvement ERSEA Coordinator - EHS - C

For 135 years, University Settlement has been an anchor in the low-income and immigrant communities where we work, offering pioneering programs in early childhood care and education, youth development, eviction prevention, literacy, theater and visual arts, senior services, and mental health. Each year, we engage over 40,000 New Yorkers through our network of 30 sites in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Our mission is to empower residents by building on their strengths through comprehensive, quality services that meet the current needs of the community; innovation that anticipates future needs; and advocacy to improve the community as a whole.

 

The zero to three child development program integrates Early Head Start and Family Child Care services into a single program that offers full-day home-based childcare services, child development and family support services, and advocacy to low-income families with children under three years of age.  The program provides developmentally appropriate home-based childcare, socialization group and home visits to families and family childcare providers.

 

Responsibilities:             

  • Coordinate all family activities including monthly Parent Workshops
  • Coordinate and support the implementation and ongoing development of the Health Advisory Committee
  • Work with the Program Director to plan and implement programs
  • To ensure that enrollment is at capacity and compliant with State and Federal program regulations.
  • Maintain proper documentation on families and children.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff
  • Assist in developing the Policy Council
  • Maintain and develop relationships with other community-based organizations that support the program’s work
  • Monitor and track ongoing medical and health forms/records as well as program requirements
  • Develop consistent, stable and supportive relationships with providers, families and children and assess their needs
  • Assist in the recruitment of families and oversee the enrollment/intake process
  • Responsible for data entry of enrollment and attendance information using Salesforce
  • Maintain appropriate records that comply with fiscal requirements
  • Develop and maintain community resource materials for families and staff including referrals
  • Assist in program evaluation and assessment
  • Other duties as requested by supervisor to fulfill job responsibilities

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Human Development or related field with knowledge of child development (birth to three years)
  • 2-3 years’ experience working with families and providing home visits
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred

 

Work Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm, 35 hours per week
