This position can be Paris-based,  Amsterdam-based, or fully remote within CET +/-2h.


Team


Our Gaming team is made up of hybrid-casual, casual, and mid-core experts. Our 'Core' games team supports internal and external studios worldwide in creating, developing, and launching new hit games, whilst our 'Live' games team focuses on delivering higher engagement on our existing and successful games.


Joining our Live games team means collaborating with gaming industry experts on globally renowned, enduring games while embracing exciting new entrepreneurial ventures. With over seven billion downloads worldwide and a portfolio of more than 10 resilient hybrid games generating more than $20m per year, we are the world's largest and most successful hybrid publisher.

Role


We are looking for a talented Lead Multiplayer Game Developer specialized in building responsive, scalable multiplayer experiences for mobile games. You'll lead technical decisions and implementations to ensure low-latency, high-quality synchronous multiplayer gameplay.


  • Define and drive the multiplayer technical vision, aligning with business goals
  • Architect and implement real-time multiplayer features ensuring low latency 
  • Mentor and collaborate closely with senior developers, defining best practices in multiplayer game development
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks related to networking, latency, synchronization, and overall multiplayer performance
  • Establish coding standards, ensuring a robust and maintainable networked codebase
  • Contribute to game design discussions, bringing insights and solutions tailored specifically to multiplayer mechanics

Profile
  • Strong experience (7+ years) in game development, specializing in multiplayer architecture and networking
  • Proven track record developing synchronous multiplayer functionality for high-scale, popular mobile games with millions of active users
  • Advanced Unity and C# expertise, specifically with multiplayer systems (Nakama, Photon, Mirror, Netcode for GameObjects, etc.)
  • Proven track record creating low-latency, scalable synchronous multiplayer games or features for mobile
  • Deep understanding of network optimization, prediction algorithms, and synchronization techniques to ensure seamless player experiences
  • Experience in profiling and optimizing multiplayer performance, network bandwidth, and server-client communication
  • Familiarity with cloud solutions, server deployment, and infrastructure management (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or similar)
  • Solid experience with CI/CD practices, analytics-driven development, and A/B testing in multiplayer environments is highly desirable
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a creative, hacker mindset
  • Attention to detail, especially regarding player experience and responsivenessFluent in written and spoken English
