As a Kernel Software Developer specializing in memory management especially for CXL subsystem, your primary responsibility will be to ensure efficient and reliable memory allocation, utilization, and protection within the operating system's kernel. You'll work closely with a team of developers and system architects to design, implement, and optimize memory-related subsystems.Key Responsibilities:• Memory Allocation and Deallocation: Develop and enhance memory allocation algorithms and data structures to minimize fragmentation and maximize system performance.• Page Table Management: Implement and optimize page table structures for virtual memory management, ensuring efficient address translation.• Memory Protection: Design and implement mechanisms for memory protection and access control to prevent unauthorized access and maintain system stability.• Resource Management: Collaborate with the team to manage system resources effectively, including physical and virtual memory, to meet the needs of running processes.• Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve memory-related bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the kernel to enhance overall system performance.• Debugging and Testing: Develop and maintain tools and techniques for debugging memory-related issues and conducting rigorous testing to ensure memory subsystem reliability.• Security: Work on enhancing memory security, addressing vulnerabilities, and implementing security measures to protect against memory-based attacks.• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of memory management components, algorithms, and processes.Education:• Relevant majors include Computer Science, Management Info Systems, Computer Info Systems, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering• Open to Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD level candidates• Must be continuing education in Fall of 2024The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:$36.16 - $46.16Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
