Job Summary:
The Digital News Journalist is part of the team responsible for ensuring the WHRO newsroom is reaching all of Hampton Roads, targeting our content to reach the people who need and rely on it.
This person will work closely with a Digital Newsletter Producer to organize, produce and share WHRO’s journalism on various platforms, engage with out dedicated audience and implement strategies to appeal to new audiences.
This person will assist in implementing the station’s larger engagement strategy in the newsroom through work on the journalism newsletter, social media accounts and brainstorming new, creative ways to share WHRO’s award-winning work with our dedicated and future audiences.
The Digital Producer will help prepare and build WHRO Journalism’s daily newsletter and create social media content. This person should be knowledgeable of social platforms and trends and be passionate about creating original and interesting multimedia assets like video and imagery.
