We are looking for a Staff System Test Engineer to join our team. The goal of a Staff System Test Engineer at Wisk is to ensure that R&D projects reach their goals and set us up for future success. You will be part of the Advanced Research and Development team that focuses on the following key areas: flight test of autonomy technologies, new propulsion systems, advanced concepts.
This is a hybrid work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View and/or Hollister offices 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days.
With that vision in mind, we are looking for a Staff System Test Engineer to join our Advanced Research and Development team. The goal of the Staff System Test Engineer at Wisk is to create project plans with team leaders: including objectives, results, impact, resources, and schedules. Aid in the execution of those projects: write code, turn wrenches, build harnesses, analyze data, fix stuff, and document results. Coordinate efforts with functional and project team leads. Communicate progress, opportunities, blockers, and status to the R&D Sr. Manager, CTO, and other leaders as required. Encourage the team to work across boundaries, and get things done.
We are looking for team members who can drive the appropriate amount of process and rigor to learn quickly, and capture the results to build the first fully autonomous all-electric aircraft that performs and operates safely in an urban air-mobility environment.
The successful candidate is highly knowledgeable and an experienced technical leader who has direct hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical integration and testing for experimental aircraft, with the technical breadth necessary to interface with engineering functions such as Hardware, Software, Manufacturing, Test, and Certification. In this role, the candidate must be self-motivated with a strong bias for action, compassion, inclusivity, and excellent problem solving skills across multidisciplinary skill sets. You're a "hands-on" leader. You get things done. You drive alignment, clarity, focus and accountability, and marshal people and resources to accomplish the goal. You seek feedback, ask great questions, and are honest about what you know and don’t. You love trying something new even if you know it might not work.
We are committed to fostering diversity and inclusivity, and we encourage individuals from all backgrounds, including those from marginalized or underrepresented groups in the tech industry and aerospace, to apply for our job openings. We consider every candidate who shares our passion for making the impossible possible, even if they may not strictly meet all preferred requirements. We firmly believe that a diverse range of perspectives can profoundly influence both our product and our company culture.
