Job Description

About Buildings + Places: 

Our Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism and planning, strategy +, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory, and cost and program management.  This team assists our clients from strategy through project realization, creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use the buildings and environments we help to create.  Our Colorado studio focuses on the Commercial/Corporate, Science and Technology, and Federal market sectors.  We look to combine beauty, sustainability, resiliency, and innovation in our projects and believe these values can be instilled in any project regardless of size or budget. 

Some of our recent projects include the renovation of the Denver Central Public Library, US Air Force Cadet Chapel restoration, support of the National Park Service Nationwide, Denver Water's new treatment plant, and regional work in many states.

 

AECOM is seeking a Design Intern to join the buildings & places team in the Denver, Colorado office.

This position is expected to begin in February 2025.

Internships at AECOM offer students in undergraduate and graduate programs the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, and infrastructure projects that make a real-world impact. Interns work with cutting-edge technology, learn industry best practices, and collaborate with experienced professionals in a globally recognized firm. The program fosters both technical and professional skill development while providing networking opportunities that can enhance future career prospects. Additionally, AECOM’s dedication to innovation and sustainability enables interns to contribute to meaningful projects that help shape communities and the built environment.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out tasks.
  • Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of science alternatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirement:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, or Interior design and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

 

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience in Revit.
