Student Assistant for Embedded Firmware Design (f/m/x)

Are you currently studying at a university of technology or applied sciences in a relevant field and eager to apply your knowledge in low-level programming? Job Description

  • Development, implementation, and optimization of firmware for embedded systems
  • Programming in Python and C/C++ for microcontrollers (STM32 platforms)
  • Integration and testing of peripheral devices (sensors, actuators, communication interfaces)
  • Documentation and version control of code (Git)
  • Participation in innovative research and development projects

Qualifications

  • Ongoing studies in computer science, electrical engineering, telematics, or a related field (TU/FH)
  • Initial experience in embedded firmware programming (e.g., through study projects, internships, or personal projects)
  • Knowledge of C/C++ and Python, ideally experience with microcontrollers (STM32, ESP32, AVR, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN)
  • Independent, structured working style and a passion for problem-solving
  • Experience with Git and debugging tools is an advantage
  • Working hours: 20 hours per week, coordinated with your studies

This position is subject to the collective agreement governing employees in the metal sector. Your actual salary depends on your experience and qualifications. For the vacant position it will usually be set within the following range (gross per month, excluding overtime): € 2.900 to € 3.200.
