What you'll be doing

  • Evaluate, design and implement competitive market compensation programs and structures that support the achievement of strategic objectives and desired organizational culture.
  • Lead compensation projects including survey participation, annual market range updates, ensuring compensation initiatives align with business goals and are implemented effectively across the organization.
  • Work as a strategic partner to HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, business leaders and other internal partners.
  • Support Annual Compensation Review (ACR), pay and step structure, and other processes as necessary.
  • Conduct market pricing analyses and benchmarking to ensure competitive and equitable pay structures.
  • Evaluate and update job architecture, leveling, and salary structures based on business needs and market trends.
  • Analyze compensation data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop dashboards and reports that translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
  • Partners with other compensation team members to develop and lead training and communication to support compensation philosophy, programs, and processes.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5+ years of broad compensation/human resources experience.
  • Knowledge of sales incentives including bonus and commission plans is strongly desired.
  • Extensive experience with HR technology applications (Workday preferred) required.
  • Strong analytical skills using both qualitative and quantitative data. Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to align compensation strategies with business goals while maintaining compliance with pay practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with job evaluation methodologies (e.g., Mercer, Radford, or Willis Towers Watson) required.
  • Ability to understand business issues and cultural differences and apply that knowledge to compensation and incentive design and processes.
  • Proficient in presenting and explaining complex issues and concepts to non-expert audiences.

Baxter is committed to supporting the needs for flexibility in the workplace. We do so through our flexible workplace policy which includes a required minimum number of days a week in our Deerfield, IL office. This policy provides the benefits of connecting and collaborating in-person in support of our Mission. We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000 - 143,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses.
