Carrier Sales Representative

Chief Carriers is seeking a Carrier Sales Representative to join the Chief team. This position will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with carriers, negotiating rates, and ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation solutions. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  •       Develop and expand through sales our carrier base for outside customers and Chief inter-company business.
  •      Negotiate with established and developing customers to secure profitable rates & ensure client satisfaction.
  •     Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the industry, including rates, carriers, load capacities, equipment types, etc.
  •     Collaborate with team members to secure the terms of sale, including negotiating rates, identifying carriers, utilizing specialized equipment, etc.
  •      Perform daily operations for customer accounts including load entry and monitoring, coordination of freight movements, customer communication, and management of customer needs.
  •     Maintain positive relationships with all Chief Carriers departments, Chief Divisions, and outside customers.
  •      Follow established procedures and protocols regarding all loads to ensure the integrity of shipments and the Chief brand.
  •      Proactively identifies organic growth opportunities for current customers.
  •       Prepares bids on lanes and submits RFP/RFQs as available/requested.
  •       Provides backup support for other team members as needed.
  •       Ensure timely pickup and delivery of goods by making dispatch and check calls.
  •       Collect and file necessary paperwork for timely payment. 

 

Education: 
  • High School Diploma/ GED Required. Post-secondary education preferred. 
 
Experience: 
  • Previous B2B sales, preferably in logistics
