Clever is seeking a Vice President of Marketing to grow our global network, business, and brand. In this role, you’ll develop the game plan to win hearts, minds, and market share in the K12 education community, furthering our mission to connect every student to a world of learning. You’ll lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team with responsibility for all aspects of marketing – brand, communications, growth, and product marketing. This position requires a seasoned marketing leader with a deep understanding of education technology; the role reports to the Chief Revenue Officer. 

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Develop the vision, strategy, and team to fuel Clever’s growth as a widely adopted and loved global brand in education.
  • Drive go-to-market and competitive strategy based on customer and market insights, inspiring our team to conceive and tackle big ideas. 
  • As a strong storyteller, develop narratives that resonate with internal and external audiences.
  • Drive commercial success and delight customers by working collaboratively with Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams.
  • As a thought leader and strategic thinker, understand customer problems, build compelling value propositions for our platform, and design a customer journey to grow and retain revenue.
  • Maintain a rigorous operating rhythm and standard of excellence; take a metrics-driven approach, adjust strategies based on what’s working and not working, and focus investments for the greatest impact.
  • Inspire, coach, and develop our high-performing marketing team and create an environment encouraging personal growth and operational excellence.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Marketing leadership: 10+ years of marketing experience with a history of success building, launching and scaling SaaS products and businesses. Experience marketing to education or B2B customers outside the U.S. 
  • People leadership: Managing a multi-function marketing team with 7+ years of overall management experience. Demonstrates strong coaching and career development skills, including experience leading and developing other managers and leaders. 
  • Marketing acumen: You’re a storyteller who makes data-driven decisions. You seek customer insights and craft great narratives. You have experience partnering with enterprise-level sales partners to drive results. And you’re a student of marketing who is constantly seeking to improve in the craft.
  • Business Leadership and Communication: Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with and influence cross-functional stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Edtech expertise: A strong understanding of education technology and market dynamics.

SALARY TRANSPARENCY:

The range of our base salary cash compensation for this role for candidates living in the United States, besides NYC and San Francisco, CA, is between $229,500 - $270,000. For candidates living in NYC and San Francisco, CA is between $252,500-$297,000. All final offers are determined using multiple factors including experience and level of expertise.
