Operational Team Lead

Crosstown Plumbing is a successful plumbing store located in East Orange, NJ. We are looking for an experienced, empathetic, and motivational Operational Team Lead to oversee daily operations and manage the staff of our store. This role is key to maintaining a high level of customer service, team leadership, and store efficiency. Your leadership will help create a positive work environment and support the store owner in achieving business goals. You will be responsible for overseeing staff, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction. Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff members to promote a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Oversee daily store operations including inventory management, customer service, and sales performance.
  • Review current workloads and identify opportunities to realign responsibilities or add support where needed, ensuring teams functions efficiently and effectively.
  • Foster a customer-first environment by ensuring excellent customer service standards are consistently met.
  • Troubleshoot customer issues and address any escalated concerns.
  • Promote teamwork, recognition, and a positive workplace atmosphere.
  • Implement sales strategies and promotions to increase revenue and customer engagement.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment for both staff and customers.
  • Work closely with upper management to implement company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure sufficient coverage of cash register for all shifts; be able to fill in at cash register (when needed).
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • 5+ years of experience in a management role, preferably in retail or a similar industry.
  • Outstanding leadership capabilities.
  • Experience in plumbing supplies, hardware, or related industries is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of developing and motivating teams.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, operations, and customer service.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience managing employee performance.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other business software tools.
