The Opportunity 

Flock Safety is seeking an FP&A Analyst who will support the R&D and Aviation teams. This role will report into the FP&A Manager and be a critical business partner for the Aviation organization. The Finance team is responsible for forecasting the business units they support, providing insight on business performance, developing strategies for improvement, and tracking variances/anomalies in financial data. This role will offer substantial leadership exposure and the opportunity to impact decision-making in a hyper-growth environment.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Become a subject matter expert in Flock Safety’s business processes, especially as it pertains to R&D and Aviation, across each product and customer segment

  • Build and enhance long-term forecasting models to support critical expansion, operational strategies and identify areas of investment or cost savings

  • Lead day-to-day metric reporting and cash based cost tracking that enhance our decision making, week-to-week

  • Perform monthly and quarterly close activities with Flock’s accounting team to ensure we are booking expenses and accruing for costs accurately for our business units

  • Review and reconcile data to ensure ongoing accuracy within our financial systems

  • Serve as a trusted advisor on strategic projects

  • Provide exceptional support to your business partners

  • Communicate analytical insights, both verbally and visually

  • Oversight and ownership of ad-hoc analysis 

The Skillset 

  • 2+ years Finance, FP&A, Investment Banking, Consulting, or a related business field 

  • An expert in financial modeling and quantitative analysis, who enjoys solving complex and unstructured problems

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Solid project management skills, ability to independently manage tasks on time

  • Comfortable working in a very fast-paced, high-growth business environment

  • Work effectively and collaboratively cross functionally with your business partners

  • High proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets with ability to compile, transform, analyze, and present complex data sets

  • Proficiency in a data tools (for example, sigma and tableau) and a FP&A tools (for example, Adaptive / Pigment)

  • Bachelor’s degree required

90 Days at Flock

This serves as a preview of the 90 day plan you will receive if you were to be hired as a Financial Analyst at Flock Safety. 

The First 30 Days

  • Become an expert of Strategy forecasts

  • Familiarize yourself with our FP&A software and tools

  • Build relationships with business partners 

The First 60 Days 

  • Enhance forecasting models

  • Manage in-quarter budgets 

  • Assist in month-end close process 

90 Days & Beyond 

  • Continue forecast enhancements

  • Continue managing and tracking the in-quarter spend of our business partners

  • Assist in headcount planning for the organization

The Interview Process

  1. Our First Chat: During this first conversation, you’ll meet with a recruiter to chat through your background, what you could bring to Flock, what you are looking for in your next role, and who we are. 

  2. The Hiring Manager Interview: You will meet with your potential future boss to really dive into the role, the team, expectations, and what success means at Flock. This is your chance to really nerd out with someone in your field. 

  3. The Panel: Learn more about the team, responsibilities, and workflows. You should be prepared to speak about past projects, how you collaborate and communicate with others, and how you live our values. Depending on the team and role you are interviewing for, you may meet with several teammates as well as cross-functional partners. 

  4. The Executive Review: A chance to meet an executive and view Flock from a different lens. Be prepared to ask well-thought-out questions about the company, culture, and more. 

Salary & Equity

In this role, you’ll receive a starting salary of $95,000 - $115,000 as well as stock options. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators. Your recruiter will discuss this in-depth with you during our first chat.
