Job Description

The Sr. Plant Supervisor provides overall direction and supervision of the processing/packaging department(s).  Responsible for the development of all Supervisors and team members through training programs and to ensure that the plant has a trained and proficient workforce that accomplishes meeting department goals on quality, yield, productivity, cost and safety. 

 

  • Responsible for quick and timely feedback to manager on all exceptions in regard to productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost, safety, and managing the correction of areas, which are out of acceptable parameters.
  • Responsible for processing/production department(s) and for meeting department and company goals and standards on quality, yield, productivity, cost and safety.
  • Responsible for covering Plant Supervisors as needed.
  • Responsible for monitoring standards and indexes needed to control area of responsibility.
  • Administer to ensure that safety orientations and safety meetings are held as required to keep frequency and severity to a minimum.
  • Participates in department meetings in the planning processes and to the testing and development of technique/processes.
  • Help maintain and improve quality and food safety, to insure compliance with company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure department compliance with Company policies, law and regulations, which include USDA, SSOP and HACCP programs and all OSHA, required safety programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Business Management or a related field or equivalent work experience and 3 years of experience in the poultry processing industry with progressively increased responsibility
  • Must exhibit strong leadership skills/internal drive to succeed
  • Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be able to evaluate supervision fairly and objectively
  • Must be able to prioritize/adjust quickly to a changing work environment with minimal supervision to meet changing production needs
  • Must have advanced problem solving skills and independent decision making
