Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Coordinator

We have an immediate need for a full-time Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Coordinator to join our Care Team Department. 


The DME Coordinator plays a vital role in facilitating the procurement and delivery of medical equipment for our patients. This individual will be responsible for managing DME requests, ensuring the completion of necessary documentation, and coordinating with internal and external individuals to expediate the authorization and fulfillment process.

Responsibilities:
  • Interacting with our Durable Medical Equipment vendors, conducting regular follow-up and tracking order and delivery status of requests
  • Collaborating with Patient Coordinators to obtain DME requests
  • Utilizing clinical expertise to thoroughly research and analyze patient medical records, treatment plans, and assessments
  • Writing clear, concise, and persuasive letters of medical necessity for all assigned patients’ DME requests
  • Preparing prescriptions and any additional supporting documentation required for DME authorization 
  • Assisting with solutions for incorrect or broken equipment
  • Learn program policies and procedures, billing processes, and other functions of Giving Home Health Care
  • Continually develop medical knowledge to effectively engage with healthcare professionals
  • Communicate patient needs with appropriate Care Team Specialists so that any issues can be resolved.
  • Auditing patient information on a regular basis
  • Communicating and collaborating with Care Teams, patients, caregivers, and Medical Records Specialists
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all DME requests
  • Monitoring progress of requests, proactively identifying and addressing any delays or issues that may arise


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Strong work ethic and patient focus
  • Very strong relationship building and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time appropriately
  • Energetic and outgoing personality
  • Experience with MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success working independently and without close supervision

$18 - $19 an hour
