Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Coordinator

We are seeking a full-time Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Coordinator to join our Care Team Department. This critical role involves managing procurement and delivery of medical equipment for our patients, ensuring a seamless authorization and fulfillment process. 


Responsibilities:
  • Interact with Durable Medical Equipment vendors, conducting regular follow-ups to track order and delivery status.
  • Collaborate closely with Patient Coordinators to gather DME requests and ensure timely processing.
  • Utilize clinical expertise to review patient medical records, treatment plans, and assessments thoroughly.  
  • Write clear and persuasive letters of medical necessity for DME authorization.
  • Address issues related to incorrect or damaged equipment, providing effective solutions.
  • Familiarize yourself with program policies, billing processes, and operational functions of Giving Home Health Care.
  • Continuously develop medical knowledge to enhance engagement with healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate patient needs effectively with Care Team Specialists to resolve any issues.
  • Conduct regular audits of patient information to maintain accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Care Teams, patients, caregivers, and Medical Records Specialists to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all DME requires and monitor progress, proactively addressing any delays or issues. 


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Strong work ethic with a focus on patient care.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with effective time management abilities.
  • Energetic and outgoing personality, able to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
