Kentro is hiring an experienced Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) System Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Woodlawn, MD. The qualified applicant will become part of our Federal Client's operating unit, which focuses on Healthcare IT solutions for our federal government clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Administering Red Hat Satellite Server
  • Working collaboratively with the cyber security engineering team to create and deploy Ansible solutions for a distributed data and center infrastructure environment
  • Delivering baseline configurations of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to include:
  • Examining the current server configurations and scaling as necessary.
  • Configuring Ansible to integrate with the Satellite server.
  • Configuring Ansible to integrate with VMware vCenter.
  • Creating/configuring baseline playbooks, projects, and templates in the Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Testing all created Ansible Automation Platform playbooks, projects, and templates in all environments to ensure proper working order.
  • Deploying environments using Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Knowledge of GIT
  • Update system and process documentation, user guides, diagrams, and SOPs as needed.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and problem resolution on Linux systems – performance, health, and configuration.
  • Assure best practices and standards are implemented and adhered to for software systems.

Location: Hybrid in Woodlawn, MD

Salary Range: $85,000-90,000. Factors influencing pay within this range include geography, market demand, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of Red-Hat patching with Satellite server, NFS, user administration, LDAP client, disk administration (LVM/XFS/ext3/ext4), and technologies
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting systems to find root causes or problems while multiple applications are running
  • Applied knowledge of VMware and Tomcat
  • Applied knowledge of custom software and off-the-shelf software integrating with Red Hat
  • Possess effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Clearance:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance
