SOAR Developer

We have an opening for a full-time, permanent SOAR Developer to join our talented, dynamic team in support of a large Federal Government customer. 

We are seeking an experienced and innovative SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) Developer to join our dynamic cybersecurity team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, implementing, and maintaining our SOAR platform to enhance our incident response capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cybersecurity workflows, scripting languages, and automation frameworks.

This position will be 80% hybrid and 20% onsite in Austin, TX, Hines, IL, or Martinsburg, WV.

Duties

1. SOAR Platform Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain our Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response platform to streamline and automate cybersecurity processes.
• Implement custom playbooks, workflows, and integrations to optimize incident response activities.

2. Integration Expertise:

• Integrate the SOAR platform with various security tools, SIEM solutions, and third-party applications to create a cohesive and automated security ecosystem.
• Collaborate with security and IT teams to identify and implement integration requirements.

3. Scripting and Automation:

• Develop and maintain scripts and automation workflows using languages such as Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript.
• Create reusable automation components to improve efficiency and response times.

4. Incident Response Enhancement:

• Work closely with incident response teams to understand their workflow requirements and implement SOAR solutions that enhance the speed and accuracy of response activities.
• Conduct regular assessments to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

5. Documentation:

• Document design specifications, implementation details, and maintenance procedures for the SOAR platform.
• Provide comprehensive documentation for playbooks, integrations, and automation workflows.

6. Security Best Practices:

• Ensure the SOAR platform adheres to security best practices, compliance standards, and data protection regulations.
• Implement security controls and measures to safeguard sensitive information.

7. Training and Knowledge Transfer:

• Provide training and knowledge transfer sessions to security operations and incident response teams on utilizing and managing the SOAR platform.
• Foster a culture of self-service and empowerment within the cybersecurity team.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
• Proven experience as a SOAR Developer, with a focus on designing and implementing security automation solutions
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript
• Extensive experience with SOAR platforms, including customization, integration, and maintenance
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, incident response procedures, and security toolsets
• Familiarity with industry frameworks and standards such as MITRE ATT&CK
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
