A Day in the Life

In this exciting role as a Sr. Director Digital Marketing, you will report to the GM/VP of Global Strategic Marketing (GSM) within Neuromodulation (NM). You will develop a new capability and lead the digital center of excellence within the Global Strategy and Marketing team. 

A Day in the Life 

  • Build a comprehensive digital marketing strategy for NM that increases our digital presence, engages our customers and patients in innovative ways while driving business outcomes 
  • Enhance patient engagement through personalized digital experiences and targeted marketing efforts that drive loyalty 
  • Utilize data-driven insights to assess markets, inform strategic decisions, identify market opportunities, optimize marketing efforts, and measure the effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns 
  • Partner closely with peers and executives to integrate digital marketing initiatives within overall business strategies 
  • Champion the adoption of digital tools and technologies to enhance marketing effectiveness and efficiency across NM while ensuring a seamless customer experience across all touchpoints 
  • Lead the creation and execution of digital marketing campaigns, including SEO/SEM, email marketing, social media, and direct to patient advertising 
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to produce high-quality digital content 
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing global team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence 
  • Identify and implement innovative digital marketing solutions to stay ahead of industry trends and drive competitive advantage 

Additional Responsibilities 

  • Possess management authority to make significant business and strategic decisions including control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and approving changes to methods and practices 
  • Establish key performance indicators and regularly reports on the performance of digital marketing initiatives; optimizes campaigns based on insights to maximize ROI 

Must Haves 

  • Education:Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred 
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with 10+ years of managerial experience 
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools and platforms, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and analytics 
  • Experience in driving digital transformation and implementing innovative digital marketing solutions 
  • Ability to communicate with senior executive leadership regarding matters of strategic importance to the organization 
  • Ability to influence across functions and businesses to negotiate and gain cooperation on divergent objectives 
  • Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills. Proven record of driving business growth and innovation.  
  • Analytical thinker who can create innovative approaches to the market  
  • People leadership skills to develop, motivate, and retain talent during a time of significant organizational change 
  • A proven record of driving business growth globally, through exceptional leadership, performance accountability, culture, and execution 
  • Strong business acumen and business planning analysis – strategic planning, financial analysis, marketing planning. Ability to communicate business vision and align the organization to it. 
  • Effectively communicates both written and verbal at all levels in an organization, externally and with diverse groups. Position requires excellent poise and confidence when interacting with physicians, patients, sales, across organizational functions and senior leadership. Ability to summarize complex information in a clear and concise manner. 
  • Proven ability to operate in a matrix environment and work effectively with sales & marketing management as well as other functions including, regulatory, clinical, quality, reimbursement, research and development, manufacturing, finance, human resources, information technology and legal 
  • Proven record to work independently, while achieving aggressive personal and geographic objectives. Highly motivated, “can do” attitude with strong influence management skills 
  • Exceptionally customer-focus; develops strong working relationships and networks across specialties and geographies 
  • Proven history of good judgment. Demonstrated integrity and respect of peers and broader team 
  • Must embody the Medtronic Leadership Expectations 
  • Global travel – position is expected to travel extensively and attend all major customer/scientific venues (estimated ~up to 25%)

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$224,800.00 - $337,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
