OVERVIEW

Morning Brew Inc. is on the hunt for an Associate Art Director to join our awesome Design team! You’ll report to the Design Director and work with teams across the company to bring Morning Brew Inc.'s branded content, Insights reports, and editorial experiences to life with eye-catching visuals that make an impact. We're looking for someone who thinks strategically and communicates effectively, and has a flexible design style—someone who’s excited to experiment with different aesthetics while pushing creative boundaries across digital, social, interactive, and experiential formats. If you're someone who can juggle multiple projects and deadlines without breaking a sweat and is all about delivering flawless work from start to finish, we’d love to talk. Morning Brew is based in New York City but this role is remote-friendly for all candidates.


HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON

Design and Development: 

- Design and build standalone interactive stories,branded content experiences, and research reports from ideation to publication.

- Develop high-impact visual concepts for branded campaigns, client pitches, and content programs, ensuring alignment with Morning Brew Inc.’s brand voice.

Project Management

- Oversee the design process for branded features, ensuring visually compelling layouts and interactive elements across articles, emails, social, events, and OOH.

- Maintain a design project calendar, manage deadlines, and collaborate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of assets.

- Present and explain design work to internal stakeholders, freelancers, and clients, clearly articulating creative concepts and rationale.

Freelance Network Management: 

- Build and manage a network of illustrators, photographers, and designers, engaging freelance contributors as needed.

Creative Direction: 

- Develop creative direction and produce reports, interactives, and microsites for the internal insights and analytics team.

- Develop interactive experiences using no-code tools like Framer and support UX and visual storytelling for editorial features and internal reports.

Budget Management and Art Direction: 

- Manage production budgets, oversee art direction for web, newsletter, social, and event content, and ensure projects meet brand and client expectations.

Collaboration and Innovation: 

- Foster relationships across departments, bringing a creative, strategic perspective to branded content, internal, and editorial initiatives.

- Identify opportunities to expand the impact of design within the organization, advocating for creative risk-taking and innovation.

- Collaborate with the product team to templatize campaign formats and elements, improving Morning Brew Inc.'s CMS and streamlining production workflows.


QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in design, with a strong background in digital design and interactive storytelling. Previous editorial, branded content, or agency experience is preferred.

Skills: Proficient in Figma and Framer (or ability to learn Framer within the first 30-60 days). Experience in UX design and wireframing is essential. Impeccable taste in art and design, with a deep understanding of media landscape trends, design culture, and the ability to connect design decisions to brand voice and vision.

Leadership and Communication: Experience managing direct reports, including in-house, freelance, or contract designers, with a focus on mentoring internal content teams and managing external creative talent. Skilled in mentoring and teaching design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Figma to team members. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and explain design concepts to cross-functional teams and clients.

Project Management Tools: Familiarity with Monday and Notion for project management and cross-functional communication.


COMPENSATION $110,000 *Final offers for this job will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided, commensurate with experience. Total offer package to include benefits highlighted under our perks section below.
