Job Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier 2/3 support to large and mixed on-premises and cloud storage environments.
- Work hands-on designing and troubleshooting servers running Windows Server in multi-tiered federal agency on-premises and cloud environments.
- Debug application and server performance issues.
- Monitor servers along with resident applications and provide/implement solutions.
- Install and configure enterprise server software in a dynamic customer environment.
- Display multi-tasking expertise and patience to troubleshoot critical issues under pressure.
- Service provisioning requests for new block and file storage.
- Service provisioning requests for removing decommissioned storage.
- SAN/NAS storage support attaching/detaching new storage arrays/switches/hosts.
- Coordinate and/or perform additions and changes to network hardware, operating systems, and attached devices; including investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and software.
- Apply firmware/perform maintenance tasks on storage/switches/HBAs, including OS and security patches for Linux hosts.
- Analyze performance bottlenecks, suggest and implement improvements and workarounds.
- Produce capacity planning reports and forecast storage growth.
- Implement/monitor/support any DR functions using solutions such as Dell PowerVault.
- Identify opportunities for automation and implement using scripts and other automation tools.
- Participate in and lead storage-related projects to improve the physical infrastructure.
- Set up and maintenance of both physical server racks and virtual machines.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of working experience in a related field.
- Expertise with at least 2-3 of the following storage vendors' products: Dell PowerVault, EMC Unity/Isilon, VMAX/ VNX/ DMX/CX/NS, HP 3PAR/XP/EVA, IBM XIV/v900/CG8/SVC, NetApp V7/V8.
- Experience with technologies such as Dell EMC RecoverPoint, Isilon SyncIQ, Superna Eyeglass, Komprise, and Zerto for replicating, migrating, archiving data, and disaster recovery.
- Knowledge and experience with multipathing software on hosts including VMware ESXi, Linux and Windows.
- Experience supporting ZFS/NFS ver. 3, ver. 4 in Linux environments.
- Experience working in cloud environments (Azure and AWS storage) highly preferred.
