Computer Technician- Part Time (0001)

OCT Consulting LLC is an SBA-certified, 8(a) small business management and technology consulting firm that provides support to Federal Government clients. We provide consulting services in the areas of Strategy, Process Improvement, Change Management, Program and Project Management, Acquisition/Procurement, and Information Technology.

Responsibilities and Duties

OCT currently has an opening a detail-oriented and technically proficient Part-Time Computer Technician to assist with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of computer hardware, software, and network systems. This role involves providing support to employees and customers, diagnosing technical issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Provide technical support to users, including diagnosing and resolving issues with operating systems, applications, and network connectivity.
  • Perform routine maintenance, updates, and security patches on systems.
  • Assist with setting up and maintaining network connections, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Document technical issues, resolutions, and procedures in an organized manner.
  • Maintain inventory of IT assets.
  • Collaborate with other IT staff to implement solutions and improve system performance.
  • Follow IT security protocols and best practices to ensure data protection.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience in IT support or computer repair.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, networking principles, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to commute to our office in McLean, VA as often as requested in a timely manner.

Benefits

Hourly Range: $20-25.00 per hour commensurate with experience, education, etc. on a 1099 or part-time hourly basis
