Our Home is one of the fastest growing Better For You food brands in the country and this explosive growth requires great people with a passion for better-for-you snacks.

Our Home is seeking a skilled Corn Cook to join our team on 1st shift. The corn cook is primarily responsible for cooking the corn and maintains the appropriate cooking temperature, while making sure machines are kept clean and working properly. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. This position's typical schedule works Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire a strong understanding of the chip/cracker cooking process, participating in a constant cooperative effort to improve process for quality and efficiency.
  • Become familiar with raw materials used in all Organic and Conventional products and ensure accuracy in the scaling of all necessary ingredients.
  • Scale ingredients for all products on fresh and case-packed products, as well as for test masa and samples as needed.
  • Complete paperwork ensuring 100% traceability of all scaled ingredients, including Scaled Ingredient Logs and Organic Batch Runs Sheets.
  • Handle all ingredients according to company policies to ensure product quality and safety.
  • Ensure that all needed ingredients are scaled for products that will be run.
  • Communicate regularly with Warehouse, Quality Assurance, Management and Maintenance employees as necessary to ensure quality and efficiency in the scaling process.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the scaling area. Scaling is a clean room and must be kept free of contamination and debris.
  • Perform all duties required in the Scaling Cell in order to ensure that scaling is “inspection ready” at all times.
  • Understand, practice and lead by example in all safety efforts.
  • Train all new employees in the Scaling Department.
  • Guide Scaling Employees to ensure that they understand all Scaling requirements on a daily basis.
  • On occasion review all new and existing procedures to keep aware of expectations
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Requires basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Requires knowledge of product quality
  • Food Handlers Certificate
  • Forklift certification is required
  • Ability to work well on a team but be self-motivated and Independent
  • Continuous standing and walking
