The company, formed in 2020 through the combination of Raytheon Company and the United Technologies Corporation aerospace businesses, is headquartered in Arlington, VA.The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Data Services (ES -Data) Team:RTX’s Enterprise Data Services (ES-Data) group has an opening for an Associate Director, Data Governance Product Lead (Associate Director, Business Systems and Transformation) supporting RTX’s focus on Digital Thread/Data Strategy as part of our enterprise-wide Digital Transformation initiative.Exciting Opportunity!• Focused enthusiastic champion of data governance, offering BU’s consulting, adoption methods, training, and assistance to ensure their strategic and high-value projects leverage data governance, driving adoption and value for RTX.• Support and Lead Data Governance at ES-Data• Partner with colleagues within the ES-Data and across RTX businesses, ES and Corporate to help shape, define and deliver Data Governance associated to ES-Data products and RTX wide initiatives; ensure successful adoption and continued collaboration.• Serve as a point of escalation for data governance capabilities and will work closely with Business and Functional area leadership to leverage RTX Data Governance capabilities and best practices• Respond to regulatory protection requirements as well as support the strategic requirements of the department.ES-Data’s Data Governance Product Lead will help customers (RTX BU's) transform their organizations by leading organization-wide data governance capabilities to improve the quality and managing the protection of sensitive data and information assets.This position focuses on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards, and practices, both at the department and Business and Functional areas level, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality, and protection to meet overall business needs.What You Will Do:• Partner with BUs to understand strategic priorities to shape the Data Governance capability roadmap.• Develop and drive an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap incorporating strategic priorities as requirements.• Support the ongoing development of the enterprise- wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through continuous improvement of capabilities and services, metrics, processes, and data architecture.• Capture and document requirements, performing system analysis into a data governance capability and services prioritized product backlog• Coordinate data governance capabilities development and build out with internal infrastructure team and in turn inform business and corporate partners of availability• Resolve issues escalated from Business and Functional areas data governance representatives.• Provide technical guidance and education to BU’s including regarding data governance best practices.• Coordinate external data sources to eliminate redundancy and streamline the expense related to those services.• Analyze and address data-related problems and identify new improvement opportunities• Participate in the development and maintenance of data models and data dictionaries.• Participate in cross-functional team meetings to identify and resolve data governance issues.• Support data governance team to provide progress reports to ES-Data SLT and BU and Corporate Data Board management.• Support the development and implementation of data catalog, protection and quality standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise.• Support definition of indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements.• Travel up to 25-30%Qualifications We Prefer:• Minimum of 12+ years’ experience in a major services organization with large-scale data or project management and oversight experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or Business or similar discipline or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and 10+ years’ of related work experience.• Senior management role with Board level change or transformation leadership experience.• Experience leading data cataloging, protection and quality management practices in an organization.• Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection.• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.Qualifications We Prefer:• Minimum of 12+ years' experience in the Data Governance arena and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics ((STEM) or Business, Finance or related discipline or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree.• Knowledge of risk data architecture and technology solutions.• Internally and externally recognized subject matter expert that influence the way things are done.• Experience in data/ BI analytics, large-scale database technologies, data ingestion, processing, cloud- based infrastructure platforms (AWS, Azure).• Experience with data analysis especially using Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI tools.• Ability to Travel 25-30%Learn More & Apply Now!Work Location: RemotePlease consider the following role type definition as you apply for this role:Remote: This position is currently designated as remote. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.This role is a U.S.-based role.
