We are looking for an experienced and visionary Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead our global marketing efforts. In this role, you will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy that supports our commercial objectives and strengthens our brand positioning worldwide. You will drive demand generation, oversee product marketing, and enhance Smappee’s market presence through innovative campaigns and strategic partnerships. 

This role is ideal for a strategic, data-driven, and hands-on marketing leader with a passion for technology and innovation. You will lead a dynamic team, cultivating a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence while ensuring seamless integration between marketing, sales, and product teams to drive business success.

Responsibilities 

Marketing Leadership & Strategy 

  • As part of the Smappee leadership team, you develop and execute a global marketing strategy (with regionalized approach) that supports Smappee’s commercial objectives and brand positioning. 
  • You define and oversee go-to-market (GTM) strategies for our hardware, software and services solutions across B2B, B2B2C, and B2C segments in close cooperation with Sales. 

Team Leadership & Development 

  • You lead and inspire a high-performing marketing team of 11 professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability. 
  • You guide the Product Marketing team in positioning and messaging, ensuring clear differentiation in the market. 
  • You drive Digital & Growth Marketing, optimizing demand generation, social media, SEO, and paid campaigns for customer acquisition and retention. 
  • You oversee Regional Marketing efforts, ensuring local activations support global brand consistency. 
  • You manage Brand & Campaign activities, including content creation, graphic design, event management, PR and overall brand storytelling. 
  • As crucial part of our partner program, you ensure a professional Training Academy that differentiates us from competition 

Market & Customer Insights 

  • You conduct and leverage market research and customer insights to fine-tune messaging and positioning. 
  • You track competitive trends and adjust marketing strategies to maintain Smappee’s leadership position. 
  • You champion customer-centric marketing, ensuring our messaging resonates across different target audiences. 

Performance & Commercial Growth 

  • You set and track KPIs for marketing initiatives, ensuring ROI on marketing investments. 
  • You align with Sales teams to support lead generation, nurture campaigns, and customer engagement. 
  • You own the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation across channels, initiatives and regions. 
  • You have proven experience as a CMO or senior marketing leader in a technology-driven environment, ideally in energy, EV charging, IoT, or smart hardware/software solutions. 
  • You have strong expertise in B2C models with exposure to B2B2C and B2B marketing. 
  • You have experience managing multidisciplinary marketing teams, covering product marketing, digital & growth, regional marketing, and brand. 
  • You are a natural storyteller and brand builder, able to translate technical innovations into compelling market narratives. 
  • You have strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and coach teams in a fast-paced, scale-up environment. 
  • You are comfortable working closely with sales and product teams to align marketing with business goals. 
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English.
