Lead Product Designer (Remote, United States)

The product team's vision is to make buying insurance a simple and enjoyable user experience. We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our growing design team. In this role, you’ll lead design initiatives across complex problem spaces, shape our product strategy through a design lens, and mentor fellow designers. As a key design leader, you'll partner with product, engineering, research, and data to drive exceptional user experiences and measurable business outcomes.

Our employees can choose to work remotely in the U.S. Join us in our Austin, Texas office, or opt for a hybrid setup. Whether you prefer the structure of an office, the convenience of remote work, or a mix of both, we support what works best for you!

What You’ll Do:

  • Own and drive design strategy across key product areas

  • Lead large-scale initiatives from discovery through delivery

  • Translate complex user needs and business goals into elegant, user-centric solutions

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define problems, brainstorm solutions, prototype ideas, and ship polished products

  • Bring structure and clarity to ambiguous spaces

  • Set a high bar for craft and consistency in visual and interaction design

  • Advocate for accessibility, usability, and inclusive design

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to other designers across the team

  • Help evolve our design systems and processes

  • Represent design in executive-level conversations and influence product direction

What We're Looking For:

We look for folks who have a strong sense of ownership, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a dedication to continuous improvement.

  • 7+ years of experience in product design with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product thinking

  • Experience leading design work across complex products or platforms

  • Excellent interaction and visual design skills

  • Comfort working in ambiguity and driving clarity

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills—you can articulate design decisions clearly and influence stakeholders

  • Deep experience collaborating with product managers, engineers, researchers, and data scientists

  • Familiarity with user research methods and data-driven design

  • Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma, FigJam, etc.)

  • A mindset of curiosity, empathy, and continuous improvement

The salary range for this position is $145,000-$165,000 per year. The final salary amount will be determined based on a variety of factors, including experience, skills, internal equity, and insights gained throughout the interview process.
