1099 - REMOTE - Licensed Mental Health Professional - NJ

The Role

We are currently looking to contract with 1099 contractors licensed in the state of New Jersey to add to our Mental Health coverage network - providing therapy, counseling, and support to our members (students, faculty & staff) who use the TimelyCare platform.  


Mental Health Counseling is part of a broad range of digital health services provided as part of a digital telehealth therapy service for members of higher education, primarily college students. As a clinical independent mental health counselor with TimelyCare you will offer therapy and support for the members/students we serve, partnering with them to identify their needs, develop individualized care plans, collaborate with them to actively participate in their care progression, and guide them when necessary to the appropriate service (counseling, psychiatry, etc.). 


We are specifically looking to add clinical social workers (LI/CSW), professional counselors (LPC), mental health counselors (LMHC), marriage and family therapists (LMFT), and Doctorates of Clinical Psychology (Ph.D/Psy.D) providers to our platform.  


Requirements for Contracted Services
  • Required: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or  Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Preferred: Clinical Psychologist (Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology)
  • Active State License(s) in New Jersey, specifically
  • Strong clinical documentation, assessment, and active listening skills
  • Experience with crisis intervention/de-escalation and safety/treatment planning
  • Background in providing services to young adults, adolescents, at-risk populations, and/or experience working in community mental health, crisis triage, or a college counseling environment


What Our Contracted Therapists Do
  • Provide therapeutic counseling services and treatment planning to a primarily young adult population
  • Document concurrently and submit HIPAA compliant documentation using TimelyCare's electronic health record
  • Develop and submit treatment plans and progress notes following each session
  • Communicate cross functionally with other teams/departments in order to support care continuation as needed
  • Adhere to established standards for documentation quality and code of ethics

  • Timely: Expected session time is 45–50 minutes, with the time remaining for documentation (60 minutes total)

  • Therapist autonomy: Flexible hours that work for you. Independent, contracted therapists can set their own schedule for any time Monday–Sunday
  • Motivated clients: The population TimelyCare serves is made up of motivated, high functioning students in higher education institutions who are ready to actively participate in behavioral health services and treatment
  • Professional boundaries: Clients will not have access to your phone number or email


Expectations for Contracted Services
  • Work with the student/client to establish and develop treatment goals and document accordingly
  • Utilize active listening skills and evidence based modalities (SFBT, CBT, DBT, MI, ACT) in order to build rapport, establish boundaries, and progress student/client care
  • Submit appropriate documentation in the EHR (the TimelyCare platform) in a punctual manner
  • Prepared to adapt to the changing needs of the population we serve
  • Able to remain calm and maintain composure during a potential high stress scenario
  • Respond with empathy, professionalism, and meet clients where they are at
  • Model respectful conduct with all students, peers, and support staff
