Your team and your responsibilities

Team/division description

Within TME, our IT&D (Information Technology & Digital) division manages & supports all IT matters (on Application, Network and Infrastructure level) for entire Toyota in Europe, for the R&D, manufacturing and sales organisations.

Our team supports Research and development, Production Engineering, and Purchasing digitalization, which means we enable the entire vehicle development process.

Your project

You will be working on development of simulation modelling process automation and related data management in vehicle development transformation team. Simulation modelling process is fundamental for trusting simulation results for design decisions. A typical vehicle simulation model for domains like stiffness, durability, crash is composed of thousands of parts, multiple materials and connections, and it is composed by millions of elements. Traditionally, modelling requires a lot of work from specialised experts. Toyota IT&D supports the business to develop automated modelling processes that deliver high efficiency (fast modelling, limited need for human effort) with consistent quality. You will participate to the expansion of that solution, including:

  • Definition of the ideal process and operation workflow clarification for one or more application scope
  • Definition of the IT & cloud environment preparation (AWS or Azure) for the solution roll-out
  • Data gathering and implementation of modelling process automation
  • Execution of PoC (proof of concept) or pilot projects and result evaluation to support deployment

Your Profile

  • You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
  • You have a background or an interest in computer science (coding, data base and data structure, data science etc) and/or engineering (Mechanical design, CAE, etc)
  • We value your experience with related engineering tools (FEM solvers like Nastran, LS-Dyna, Ansys, Abaqus) and scripting languages (preferably Python, but also Matlab, VBA, JS)
  • We expect your ability to quickly learn on the job to close the gaps in needed competencies, critical thinking mindset and that you are not afraid to speak up and to propose further improvements

Starting date

As soon as possible

Duration

6 months

Confidentiality

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)

We offer

We offer a dynamic multicultural work environment with broad opportunities to learn every day and exciting career pathways that help you explore different disciplines or areas of expertise.

Your benefits

  • Flexible working hours and hybrid working (homeworking, 10 days from abroad);
  • Company restaurant – Warm dishes, salads and desserts daily, including Japanese and traditional Belgian specialties, as well as a vegan/vegetarian option;
  • Sport facilities – Tennis, squash, volleyball, football and softball pitches are available at various Toyota sites;
  • Team building activities and other personnel related events;
