From conducting flight safety investigations and educating pilots on potential safety threats to implementing medical programs and helping prevent employee injuries, our team is instrumental in running a safe and successful airline for our customers and employees.Key Responsibilities:The Senior Manager, Corporate Safety is responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, and management of safety programs within one of our designated Hubs (San Francisco, CA, Denver, CO, Houston, TX, Chicago, IL, and Newark, NJ). This role will actively analyze leading and lagging safety risk indicators and facilitating implementation of cross divisional plans and processes to mitigate employee, asset, regulatory and liability risks at a Hub. This role ensures that all internal policies and procedures align with regulatory and Corporate Safety standards and promotes a culture of safety across all departments. The Senior Manager collaborates with the operational hub safety leaders and other hub partners to provide strategic direction and guidance to enhance the overall safety performance of the company. The Senior Safety manager will provide leadership and direction to salaried and management employees to implement strategies for precenting injuries and aircraft damages. Provides Corporate Safety support to and expertise to all divisions and locations.The salary for this position is $114,750 to $ 168,300, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule.• Collaborates with Hub operational safety teams and leaders in injury prevention strategies; supports special investigations into fatalities and incidents of a serious or systemic nature to prevent recurrence• Lead and support Hubs in onsite risk assessments that are systemic or have cross divisional risk• Support aircraft damage prevention strategies and review of root cause mitigations and validation• Integrate with hub leaders and operating group hub safety leaders to promote a culture of safety• Ensure cross-divisional and business partner alignment and engagement to foster a collaborative environment• Provide Corporate Safety leadership and guidance in the implementation of Corporate Safety policies including Global Safety Standards, Emergency Response and Business Continuity, etc• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations• Continuously improve safety by staying informed on regulations, identifying areas to enhance processes, and implementing effective strategies to uphold a strong safety record.• Developing, measuring, and monitoring safety data metrics (performance indicators, etc.) and developing/implement improvement plans• Up to 30% travel to United Corporate Office in Chicago, IL and other domestic or international United Airlines locationsUnited values diverse experiences, perspectives, and we encourage everyone who meets the minimum qualifications to apply. We are always looking for individuals who will bring something new to the table!QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, or related experience• 7+ years of experience in corporate safety management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills• Proven ability to lead by influence and collaborate with various collaborators• Proven ability to develop and implement effective safety programs• Analytical approach with the ability to make data-driven decisions• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the positionWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):• Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH)United Airlines is an equal opportunity employer.
