Backend Software Engineer for Threat Intel (Remote in EU or US East Coast)

Your Role


As our Backend Software Engineer you work remotely with our engineering team based in the EU and take ownership from day one by working independently while being an effective communicator. With your experience in threat hunting or threat intelligence, you are a key player in building a new data processing and analytics platform for long-term conclusions that help us enrich our event-driven data processing. In this role, you report to the Tech Lead of our Data Services team and work closely with other engineering teams to contribute to the success of our company. By taking responsibility and contributing your own ideas, you bring our products to the next level. 


Your Impact
  • Contribute to architectural decisions to implement our new threat intelligence analytics platform.
  • Develop both proof-of-concept and production-level technology to provide useful and timely security insights to customers.
  • Collaborate with other teams to integrate our data and intelligence services into the landscape of our abuse-handling services.
  • Develop (new and existing) high-throughput data processing systems that support our threat intelligence products.
  • Improve our existing data-processing systems and internal APIs to gather and classify internet abuse and threat intelligence information.
  • Implement new backend systems based on requirements for new functionalities for our latest products.


Your Skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English to ensure the seamless flow of information within the remote team. Timely and transparent communication about any obstacles for quick resolutions.
  • Tech stack includes Javascript/Typescript and Node.js, as well as relational databases and event processing platforms.
  • Very good in writing clean, understandable code in a team environment. Prioritize code quality and maintainability over individual ego.
  • Open to give and receive feedback, committed to continuous improvement through collaborative code reviews.
  • Worked with Security Analysts or Threat Hunters in the past and understand how to meet their needs in your work.
  • Familiar with AWS, Docker and Git Version Control.
