Overnight Camp Program Specialist

For almost 20  years, Avid4 Adventure has empowered kids to live active outdoor lifestyles through our unique outdoor programming. Our Program Specialists are the life behind creating a positive and fun camp culture! In this role you  will be leading  multiple activities across camp, (see below for specifics), to provide the best possible experience for our campers. You’ll plan and implement all the activities that make Overnight Camp what it is, creating camp magic. This is an incredible opportunity for someone looking to make a lasting impact for hundreds of campers this summer. 

We are hiring Program Specialist for the following locations:

  • Camp Blue Sky, Evergreen, CO

In this role you will

  • Plan and lead evening events, ceremonies, morning clubs, and execute creative dining hall meals/themes in conjunction with kitchen staff.

  • Lead a variety of onsite activities including archery, mountain boarding, tree climbing, low ropes course, crafts, rec areas, hammocking and slacklining and more. 

  • Needs to be flexible, able to take initiative, and good risk management skills.

  • Will be asked to co-lead other overnight camp programs from time to time and sub in for groups to support instructor time off (training will be provided!)

  • Serve as a role model and guide campers by exhibiting appropriate behavior, attitudes, and activities. Be a highly engaged and positive culture-builder!

  • Follow and educate campers on safety protocols to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants. 

  • Help with gear maintenance, inventory of gear, and any other task assigned as directed by camp leadership.

Your Background

  • Minimum 18 years of age by the start of camp training. 

  • 1+ years of experience working at a resident camp is strongly preferred. Must have experience leading engaging culture-building activities for youth.  

  • Minimum of Basic First Aid & CPR certification by the start of camp (and we can point you in the right direction to get this done) Some positions at Camp Windy Peak may require a Wilderness First Aid (or WFR/EMT) certification.

Important Details

  • Work Schedule: Overnight camps are a 24/7 operation. The leadership team will create a schedule that provides you with time off throughout each session. This will typically include an extended daily break, 24 hours off per session, and the weekend, (Friday evening to Sunday morning), between each session. 

  • Position Duration: Training begins May 17; overnight camp programs run from June 1 through August 2.

  • Compensation: Pay is determined based on position, additional responsibilities, relevant certifications, and staff tenure. Starting hourly are below: 

    • Specialist: $446.25/week

    • Relevant Certification Bonuses: $100 - $400 per certification (up to $400)
