The Builders Exchange of NW MI is a non-profit trade association that has been serving commercial contractors since 1951 with plan room services and bringing bid opportunities to our platform for their access.
This position is located in Traverse City in an (in-person) office environment. We are seeking someone who is technically proficient, detail-oriented, self-motivated, has strong problem-solving skills, and has a customer-focused attitude. This person would fill a role in member services including marketing events, sales, data entry for construction addendums, and technical support for our proprietary bid software.
Half of your time would consist of posting addendums and project information in our software for members to see. The other half would be working to assist members, sales, event planning and assisting with our marketing on social media, e-newsletters and print materials.
Each day will be slightly different based on member requests. We have a small staff that serves over 300 member companies and several thousand individuals from those companies. Agility and the ability to work with interruptions and still maintain accuracy will be important qualities of a successful candidate.
A customer-friendly attitude is necessary to be successful in this role.
Helpful qualifications include any combination of: commercial construction process knowledge, sales, hardware and software troubleshooting, marketing, graphic design, event planning, database management.
This job requires the candidate to lift 50lb rolls of paper to feed our plotter and some standing for periods of time.
The successful candidate will need reliable transportation to our Traverse City office, as well as to our events that could be anywhere within the county (approximately 6 times per year).
The ability and willingness to work on-site in our office in person is necessary for this position.
