The Brand Partnerships and Creative Team is a Centre of Excellence (COE) within the Marketing & Corporate Affairs function. This Brand COE is accountable for developing brand activations, managing the Group’s Brand Strategy, Brand Communications and Go-to-market campaigns, Brand Partnerships and Brand Content to drive overall brand health and reputation metrics. It is also home to CBAGENCY, CommBank’s internal creative agency.
Our team performs an important role within the Brand COE to develop and manage a national partnership portfolio and to guide best practice sponsorship strategy, ambassador and influencer approach and brand activations.

Do work that matters
As a Senior Manager, Brand Partnerships, you will report to the Chapter Lead, Brand Partnerships. As an experienced Senior Marketing Manager, you will collaborate with the Chapter Lead to spearhead the development and execution of our partnership strategies aimed at strengthening the brand, enhancing reputation, and improving the Net Promoter Score (NPS) for CommBank.
You will be responsible for managing relationships with our key sponsorship partners and ambassadors to drive commercial and customer value from our portfolio. This includes efficient delivery of rights and benefits, as well as leveraging partnerships to achieve brand, customer and community objectives.
You will possess a comprehensive understanding of the partnerships landscape and its evolving dynamics, helping us to sustain a forward-looking portfolio. You will be required to set and evolve our partnership strategy, commercially assess and negotiate with potential new partners, apply commercial acumen to successfully deliver contractual arrangements and effectively measure each partnership.
As a senior leader, you will lead and coach team members in the development and execution of creative activations to achieve excellent results, whilst effectively managing risk. Additionally, you will provide guidance and advice to other marketing teams around partnerships and activations.
Our hero brand properties include Football Australia (CommBank Matildas, Subway Socceroos, CommBank ParaMatildas, CommBank Pararoos, Pathway and Community), SXSW Sydney, CommBank Stadium plus one-off tent-pole partnerships as required (i.e. FIFA Women’s World Cup, 2023).

In any given week, your responsibilities may include:
Collaborating with the Chapter Lead, Brand Partnerships, to create and implement effective partnership strategies.
Actively identifying opportunities to utilise partnerships to achieve key metrics, while guiding the team in maximizing value from contracted rights and benefits.
Proactively collaborating with partners to creatively deliver to CommBank’s strategic objectives.
Leading the team to implement innovative brand activation strategies to engage core audiences, differentiate CommBank from the competition and deliver to success metrics. You will create rational and emotional connections with these audiences, providing reasons to think and feel more positively about CommBank.
Manage partnerships and partner relations to ensure we’re extracting maximum value.
Leading implementation of core sponsorship assets such as signage, tickets, at-match activity and marketing integration opportunities, to drive maximum value from our partnership rights and benefits.
Effectively managing budgets.
Measuring and reporting on sponsorship effectiveness and ROI.
Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to successfully implement initiatives.
Flowing to work as per CommBank’s pace model and practice agile ways of working.

Demonstrated experience being a well-rounded marketer, preferably with deep Partnerships experience.
Experience in cross team collaboration and great stakeholder management skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple and varied tasks.
Demonstrated initiative and proactivity looking for ways to maximise opportunities.
Commercial negotiation experience.
