Strategic Communications Specialist

WWC Global, an operating firm of Command Holdings, is currently seeking Strategic Communications Specialists to support United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM). This position will support USINDOPACOM and its mission partners with the organizational resources necessary to eliminate capability gaps so that USINDOPACOM can maintain a competitive edge and meet the U.S. National Defense Strategy (NDS) and National Military Strategy (NMS) objectives.

The Strategic Communications Specialists shall support to facilitate the end-to-end lifecycle for all communications, outreach, and public affairs requirements for the organization, assist the development, implementation, and evaluation of engagement strategies and outreach activities (both in-person and virtual), to include with other Government elements, foreign partners, the private sector, and the public, provides recommendations for continuous expansion of accessibility to stakeholders to advance the communications and messaging goals across the IPC claimancy.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical writing services for external and internal documents, training materials, and operational guidance
  • Provide media and communications production services that include planning, developing, and producing communications products for external and internal audiences.
  • Produce communication products (e.g., photo, audio, and video) and/or written communication products that help document and tell the command story of specified operations, exercises, engagements, and activities across the area of operations.
  • Conduct activities in support of joint operations, including actions to research, plan, execute, and assess communication materials for a variety of publics using a variety of digital and traditional media; maintain command-sponsored publicly accessible websites, and implement the DoD principles of information.
  • Provide a continuous flow of credible, reliable, timely, and accurate information and visual information to internal and external Government, military, public, and foreign audiences.
  • Assist in responding to media and public inquiries.
  • Develop communication programs, plans, community outreach efforts, and facilitating communications to different stakeholders and audiences 
  • Assess and evaluating the effectiveness of communication activities. 
  • Provide interpretation, translation, and transcribing services of various communications and documents in non-English languages in support of all Command functions.

This position is contingent on contract modification and funding.

Expected salary range: $95,000 - $125,000


Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear.
  • Employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer.

Travel:

  • 11-20% / Occasional travel.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Current, active Secret security clearance.
  • 4-10 years of experience in coordinated actions, messages, and engagements to inform, influence, or persuade audiences in support of national objectives, encompassing both military and non-military communication realms. 
  • Knowledge of DoD and National Security Council (NSC) public affairs guidance.
  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. WWC Global will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree.
  • Current, active TopSecret security clearance.
  • Prior Public Affairs Officer, Mass Communication Specialists or alike. 
  • Experience on a O-7 level staff, Joint Force Headquarters, Service, Service Component, or Major Command Headquarters
