This role is meant to help meet the most urgent needs of the business, operating as a generalist who can get up to speed across all facets of Fern (e.g., sales, operations, finances, sales engineering). You'll be a jack-of-all-trades to meet the needs of the business.
Activitites include:
Own our recruiting efforts: be the point person for our recruiting pipeline and candidate coordination, from generating a candidate lead list to closing all-star employees.
Own our finance operations: optimize our A/R and A/P processes with customers and vendors, respectively, automating where possible.
Own our data & analytics: use the different data sources at Fern (e.g., Vercel, Amazon Bedrock, Algolia, Turbopuffer, PostHog, Zapier) to enable actionable insights for employees and customers.
Own our employee experience: ensure our employees have a great work experience, including employee onboarding and enabling the proper infrastructure to grow (specifically helping find and set up a new office).
Experience: 3+ years of experience in a challenging, fast-paced environment (e.g., high-growth startups, investment banking, management consulting, venture capital investing)
Ability to address the most important business needs: your role will likely look very different six months from now, based on business priorities. You'll have to adapt to help tackle the most significant problems Fern is facing (likely related to growing ARR & hiring people who have displayed excellence in their achievements).
Low ego: no task is beneath you. We're a small group and all need to pitch in, whether it's leading negotiations with a large enterprise customer, crafting a strategy to acquire customers who attend a relevant conference (e.g., Vercel Ship, Amazon re:Invent), or ordering lunch for the team.
(Bonus) Technical understanding: you've worked with APIs and SDKs and have an intuition for what a developer-friendly experience feels like. A 4-year STEM undergrad degree is a plus.
