Location: Hybrid, London, Cambridge, Oxford  (minimum 2 days in office).

A Day in the Life

As a New Business Development Manager, Life Sciences, your mission is clear: drive new business. You’ll be responsible for identifying, engaging, and converting new opportunities across the pharmaceutical and therapeutics landscape, introducing Genomics’ cutting-edge solutions to new clients and opening doors in untapped markets.

Your day will centre on outbound business development, researching target companies, reaching out to senior stakeholders, and leading high-quality discovery calls to understand their needs and challenges. You’ll own the full sales cycle from lead generation through to closing, bringing energy, focus, and commercial acumen to every interaction.

This is a high-impact, target-driven role where strategic thinking meets hands-on execution. You’ll collaborate with our Marketing and Scientific teams to craft compelling outreach and positioning, but the focus is firmly on winning new business. You’ll be a key contributor to Genomics’ growth at an exciting stage in our journey, helping to transform how genomics is applied in healthcare.

Who You Are

  • A proactive and commercially driven sales professional with experience selling into the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences sectors.

  • Demonstrated success in consistently generating and closing new business opportunities.

  • Confident in identifying, engaging, and influencing senior decision-makers across R&D, commercial, and clinical functions.

  • Skilled at outbound lead generation using a variety of channels – cold outreach, LinkedIn, industry events, and referrals.

  • Experienced in managing end-to-end sales processes, with a strong understanding of qualification and pipeline prioritisation (e.g. BANT, MEDDIC).

  • Comfortable articulating complex genomic or scientific concepts in a clear, commercially relevant way.

  • CRM-savvy and data-driven, with experience using tools such as Membrain, Apolloto track performance and forecast accurately.

  • Motivated by targets and growth, with a strong sense of initiative and ownership.

  • Degree-qualified in Life Sciences, Business, or a relevant experience
