Project Details

You will be guiding an EU-based team of application support & DevOps engineers to ensure smooth delivery of our API-driven global promotions platform for one of the largest fast-food restaurant chains in the world 😉

  • Essentially, the team is responsible for configuring, deploying & supporting the backend of the games and will be expected to support multiple games at the same time.

What you will bring

The experience and energy to roll up your sleeves and commit your excellence to a product, your people, and our customers. You will gain a deep understanding of our API-driven promotional gaming platform so that you and your team deliver quality experiences to millions of users around the world.

Working Schedule:

  • Due to the complexity of TMS software, it is essential to work via the eastern/central US time zone for the first 6 months to ensure an effective onboarding process.

  • After a 6-month period it's possible to reduce the overlap to 2-3hrs with the central US time zone.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead one or more agile project teams and be responsible for the planning and timely delivery of their workstreams

  • Work directly with product owners, producers, business analysts, and client support teams to ensure quality solutions from inception to delivery

  • Be a guardian of world-class customer experience ensuring that the whole team owns the quality of their work; Maintain a balanced mindset delivering work according to the acceptance criteria and definition of done

  • Participate in staff planning and related financial accountability

  • Interface with leads to support technical excellence and growth on the team

  • Foster a growth mindset on your team to maximize the value they can deliver to the business

  • Advocate for the team and promote their successes, celebrate their failures, and share key learnings throughout the organization

  • Actively participate in technical troubleshooting, testing, and review alongside the team

  • Lead accountability, autonomy, and empowerment within your teams and manage the appropriate boundaries to achieve the result of having self-directed work teams

  • Stay abreast of industry/technology trends relevant to the Software Engineering discipline to foster and enable software craftsmanship and innovation

  • Apply relevant principles behind the Agile Manifesto and SAFe framework in all interactions and equip the team to do the same

Essential knowledge, skills & experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in an aspect of software development, preferably in the martech industry

  • 2+ years leading the engineering of API driven software and services or web applications, with a proven track record of successful project delivery using Agile, Scrum, XP, or Kanban 

  • Mastery of using workflow tools (preferably Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence) for maintaining exceptional project management organization and documentation

  • Excellent written and communication skills for interfacing with internal and external/client teams

  • Familiarity with reading and writing XML markup

  • Knowledge of GIT and experience with GIT collaboration workflows

  • Capable of validating software functionality via mobile applications when necessary

Desired

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering degree

  • Experience with proxy, debugging, and profiling tools such as Charles or Fiddler

  • Solid understanding of security and encryption practices

  • Understanding of HTTP & REST APIs, with knowledge of how to test using tools such as curl or Postman

  • Experience in API service-oriented architectures 

Nice to have

  • Experience with Data pipelines and analytics 

  • Experience with Mobile Application development 

  • Experience delivering reliable DevOps solutions, continuous integration, and continuous delivery 

  • Experience with leveraging public cloud infrastructure (specifically AWS)
