Role Description:
Harbor.ai is seeking an Insurance Broker with 1-3 years of insurance experience to join our team in a full-time on-site role. As an Insurance Broker, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional insurance services to our clients, managing insurance claims, analyzing insurance policies, and ensuring all relevant paperwork is correctly completed. This role is 100% on-site at our corporate Headquarters in New York City (SoHo).
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience as a property and casualty insurance broker or in a similar role.
Proven experience in the P&C insurance industry with a focus on client interactions and insurance solutions.
Skills and Abilities
Property and Casualty Insurance Knowledge: Solid understanding of various P&C insurance products, including homeowners, auto, general liability, and commercial property insurance.
Risk Assessment: Ability to evaluate clients' property and liability risks, existing coverage, and recommend appropriate P&C insurance products.
Customer Service Excellence: Ability to provide warm and professional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for both new and existing clients.
Analytical and Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to assess P&C insurance policies, identify coverage gaps, and develop effective solutions.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex P&C insurance concepts to clients and work collaboratively with team members.
Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in insurance documentation and compliance with company policies.
Multitasking and Independent Work: Capability to multitask and manage multiple client accounts while working independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
Client Services: Act as a client-facing liaison for inbound inquiries, building relationships by understanding clients' P&C insurance needs, risks, and coverage requirements.
Needs Assessment: Evaluate clients' property and casualty insurance needs through thorough discussions, assess their current coverage, and develop customized P&C insurance plans.
Customer Onboarding: Deliver professional customer service during the onboarding process for new P&C insurance clients, managing necessary paperwork and documentation.
Insurance Claims Assistance: Assist clients with property and casualty insurance claims by guiding them through the process and providing support for successful claim resolution.
Policy Analysis: Analyze existing P&C insurance policies to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement, recommending suitable products based on clients' needs.
Internal Collaboration: Work with internal teams to gather and document client requirements, translating these into actionable tasks and solutions for P&C insurance coverage.
Product Knowledge: Support the understanding of P&C insurance product specifications, including rating systems, forms, and underwriting rules.
Compliance and Reporting: Assist with compliance-related tasks specific to P&C insurance and contribute to required reports for insurance carriers and regulators.
Process Improvement: Contribute to the identification of opportunities for process improvements in P&C insurance operations and adaptations for new product launches.
Company Policies: Stay current on the company's P&C insurance services, policies, and procedures, ensuring all client interactions and tasks comply with company standards.
