The UX/UI Designer will be responsible for designing and building user-friendly and intuitive wireframes, creating appealing icons and game assets, and providing clear UI style guides for our mobile games. This unique position requires a creative, talented and motivated individual to collaborate with multiple disciplines to create the next set of great Disney and Pixar licensed games. To successfully execute the role, the candidate must work closely within the art and design teams to define and implement wireframes and flows through out product development. This person must establish and maintain UI best practices for games, and ensure product consistency on multiple device specs. This person will also help develop and create clear and attractive buttons, icons and other UI elements in a wide variety of styles to support monetization and gameplay. As a UX/UI Artist, the candidate will be involved in all aspects of internal game development, from brainstorms and pre-production to content releases for live operations. The candidate will partner with the Art Director/Lead to define the most appropriate tools, methods and approaches for the project. This person will also work directly with Engineers to ensure artworks is accurately and consistently represented in game.


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design mock-ups, wireframes and storyboards to support the flow of the game
  • Build and create game assets such as icons, buttons, widgets, logos and other UI elements
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure consistency of animations and presentation across multiple device types
  • Create clear and in-depth documentation and style guides for new titles
  • Assist production with decks and presentations
  • Participate in visual critiques and brainstorms
  • Research industry standards and develop new pipelines and workflows


QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3-5 years of practical art/design experience work in interactive media and/or mobile games
  • Graphic Design skills: sketching, wireframing and storyboarding abilities on paper and screen
  • Solid understanding of UI design best practices and interaction design fundamentals
  • A strong understanding of UI conventions and challenges for the mobile and other emerging platforms
  • Ability to translate flowcharts and wireframes into fun, usable, visually polished UI systems
  • Expert knowledge in Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience working in Unity
  • Proficiency in prototyping tools like Figma, Sketch, Invision, Framer or comparable software
  • BA/BS degree in related field
  • Solid understanding of art and visual design principles and techniques regarding 2D, 3D, animation, layout, color theory, and lighting
  • Outstanding creativity and drive; excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to multi-task like a pro
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Sense of humor and a positive, enthusiastic attitude
  • Ability to take direction
  • Self-starter, reliable, and passionate about their work
  • Eye for detail with a clear understanding of the big picture
  • Team player who understands the value of regular and effective communication
  • Passion for video games a must!

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation for this role.  The range listed is just one component of Jam City's total compensation package for employees, which may also include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, certifications, location, business needs, or market demands. This range is based on a full-time position. This range may be modified in the future. In addition, Jam City provides a variety of benefits to employees, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan, life, disability, and accident insurance.  Pay Range: $85,000 — $110,000 salary per year.
