Marketing Intern

The SWITCH-1 trial was powered to demonstrate that switching from once weekly dulaglutide to once weekly Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is superior to continuing and escalating Trulicity (dulaglutide) for HbA1c change from baseline to Week 40 in participants with T2D. These data add to Mounjaro’s superiority messaging by achieving superior A1C and weight for these switch patients. Mounjaro’s strategy is anchored on a post-metformin patient, not a post GLP-1 RA patient but currently, 1/3 of patients on Trulicity switch to Ozempic. Aside from HCPs actively switching patients from Trulicity to Mounjaro, there is the potential for Medicare plans to downgrade Trulicity coverage which then forces the HCP to choose between Ozempic or Mounjaro. Our goal is to capture 80% or more GLP1 switch patients and believe that the SWITCH-1 data can be used to compliantly reinforce why Mounjaro Mounjaro is the best option. The SWITCH-1 data will be published in late Q1 and the Mounjaro team is looking for an intern to create and execute a SWITCH-1 strategy focused on HCPs with high Trulicity use. The campaign would include a targeting strategy, localizing tactics, and a measurement plan. Currently, Trulicity is at 9% NTS.

Project Impact:

The immediate impact will be helping the Mounjaro Team deliver on their commitment to help 3.3M Julias in 2025. We need to close the gap on the number of patients switching from Trulicity to Ozempic through digital channels. This is a long-term impact project as

the learnings here can apply to the growing CMH T2D & Obesity portfolio. Switching within a disease state within a portfolio is rarely a broad prioritized lever, so this project will set the baseline on what good looks like through campaign measurement (data) and minimal budget.

Project Plan:

Project will include:

  • Data analysis (existing dashboards & BI&A) & Data analysis
  • Scientific Data analysis of SWITCH-1 data, Mounjaro data, and Trulicity data/research
  • Cross functional communication with the US Mounjaro HCP team, Global Mounjaro team, Payer Team, Greenhouse Team, Omni channel/NPP Team, Finance team, and Agile team.
  • Marketing claims analysis, content effectiveness analysis, & channel analysis.
  • Midpoint challenge session during Team Compass Meeting
  • Measurement Scorecard

How will success be measured?

Ability to communicate and influence across a broad set of cross-functional partners. Prioritization of resources, speed to deliver within 8 weeks, and applicability to broader portfolio. Create a solid, simple, and executable campaign that moves Trulicity to Mounjaro switches > 80% vs Ozempic before the end of the year.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$43,000 - $100,320

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
