POSITION TITLE: Manager, Recruitment & Admissions

LOCATION: Seattle, WA

REPORTS TO: Managing Director

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Manager, Recruitment & Admissions to cultivate a pipeline of applicants and lead the outreach and enrollment process for our Seattle site. The Manager will promote Per Scholas’ mission to prospective learners through community outreach, digital engagement, and partnership development. As an integral component of the learner experience, you will build and refine our admissions processes, and help establish our nonprofit organization as a valued and sought-after IT training program in Seattle.  

We are seeking a growth and strategic-minded individual familiar with and comfortable with getting in the community telling the Per Scholas story as well as building and managing partnerships with community based organizations. This individual must be able to leverage social media campaigns and find creative ways to connect the opportunities at Per Scholas with adult learners (18+ and older).

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Recruitment & Admissions: 

  • Manage a rigorous, high-volume outreach and admissions process throughout its entire lifecycle, ensuring targets and benchmarks for recruitment and admissions are achieved each cycle.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with referral partner organizations to sustain a pipeline of candidates with a focus on mutually beneficial long-term partnerships.
  • Find and participate in relevant community recruitment events where you can engage with prospective learners which may require some weekend availability.
  • Find and attend networking events to increase Per Scholas’ visibility in the community and recruit prospective learners with an interest in careers in the tech industry. 
  • Manage candidate applications, including conducting phone screens, leading information sessions (virtual and in-person), administering relevant technical assessment tests, and participating in face-to-face candidate interviews (virtual and in-person)--all to determine if applicants are a good fit and ready for Per Scholas training.
  • Communicate with candidates (including notifying applicants of their acceptance or waitlist status) via phone, email and/or text.
  • Oversee the new learner onboarding process including document verification, pre-work completion, and build and manage the new learner roster and waitlist ensuring a full class each cycle.
  • Develop and manage a tracking system to monitor loan recipients and learners referred from community partners.

Data Management:

  • Execute the admissions strategy and refine systems for data management and applicant tracking utilizing tools such as Salesforce and Google Sheets.
  • Ensure all data pertaining to stakeholder groups (applicants, learners, volunteers, community-based organizations, etc.) is accurately entered into Salesforce in a consistent and timely manner.
  • Organize and be prepared to report on recruitment and enrollment data from Salesforce, particularly in comparison to site and organizational goals and grant deliverables.
  • Think strategically to recognize data and trends and suggest improvements in a lean environment.
  • Work with the national marketing team to run online recruitment ads and ensure that needed revisions to collateral materials are timely.
  • Collaborate with admissions teams across other sites to share and learn best practices.

Other Projects: 

  • Provide telephone coverage, manage the campus e-mailbox and assist with site operations as needed which may include keeping the kitchen area clean and orderly.
  • Produce and lead new learner events including class kickoffs, admissions overviews and assist with graduation ceremonies.
  • Work cross-functionally with a willingness to “get things done” while promoting a collaborative work environment.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Managing Director. 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO US:

Professional Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years experience in admissions in a nonprofit or college environment is a strong plus. Tech recruitment or HR experience will not be considered.
  • Strong technical aptitude (Salesforce, Google Sheets/Excel, Slides/PowerPoint, Hubspot, Canva for collateral creation etc.), project management, and organizational skills with detailed follow-through abilities. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills along with stellar presentation and customer service skills.
  • Solid understanding of business needs and how to source talent to meet those needs.
  • Strong evaluation and data management skills.
  • Experience with social media marketing and partnership development is a plus.
