We started Van Leeuwen Ice Cream in a yellow truck on the streets of NYC in 2008 with a mission to make good ice cream that makes you feel good.

Nowadays, people can spend so much time on what’s “healthy” they don’t stop to consider what’s healthy. As far as we’re concerned, happiness is healthiness. We strive to ensure every scoop, store and employee feels and creates one community to contribute to the overall brand.

**This role requires 100% travel and must be located in either the Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta or South Florida Markets only.

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring a full-time Area Manager, based out of either Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta or South Florida. This is a great opportunity for an experienced operator to work closely with the growing team of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream as the company embarks on its next stage of major growth. The ideal candidate is someone who is highly organized, passionate about operations, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment (and loves ice cream!).

This Area Manager will report directly to the EVP of Retail Operations and will oversee an multiple markets across the Mid-Atlantic region. The Area Manager’s primary responsibility is to oversee all General Manager's in their market and the profitability of their assigned ice cream shops. The Area Manager will oversee logistics, staff performance and happiness, scheduling and labor, high-level payroll functions, quality of product, store profitability, store aesthetics and customer service.

Job Responsibilities

  • Train, coach, supervise and provide support to assigned GM's to achieve store metrics
  • Ensure successful rollout of new products, systems, practices and policies
  • Communicate regularly with team members
  • Work with HR to ensure all company policies are being followed
  • Oversee staffing efforts with HR
  • Analyze GM performance and provide feedback, guidance, training and encouragement
  • Provide operational solutions to issues that arise in the stores
  • Assist GM with order placement and delivery coordination
  • Assist in monitoring overall customer experience
  • Assist GM with health department inspections and preparation
  • Spend regular time in stores in order to fine-tune processes and keep tabs on employees
  • Assume leadership role in stores where a TL is not present

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a multi-unit manager or area manager position required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google-suite tools
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to train and coach team members of all levels
  • Ability to multitask
  • Able to push/pull 50 lbs of weight
  • Able to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Able to repeatedly bend over

Compensation

$120,00.00 - 130,000.00 annual compensation depending on experience, paid weekly 

Eligible for annual 10% bonus divided into quartely payouts.

The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held.
