Job Description

Team Summary

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa's clients, including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants.  Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients.

Within VCA we have a dedicated service line, Visa Managed Services (VMS) with specialized experts who are routinely embedded into clients to offer hands on execution support. From our collective experience we have amassed an extensive set of best practices we leverage to help partners manage customer relationships, portfolio levers and product development.

What a Director does at Visa:

We are currently looking for a Director to lead technology related client engagements as project manager, enabling the clients to overcome challenges and grow further across their payment business.

The Director will act as the main focal point, coordinating between the client team, other internal stakeholders, and outsourcing partners (as applicable). The Director will be responsible for managing various technology related initiatives between Visa and a client including product implementation, system development or etc. The full range of responsibilities is detailed below:

Business Development:

-    Build strong relationships with clients to deeply understand their business and challenges
-    Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for Managed Services
-    The ability to construct / critique a business case

Managed Services – Client Program Delivery:

-    Lead and manage technology implementation projects from initiation to completion, develop comprehensive project plans including scope, timelines, resources, and budgets, and monitor and track project progress, and adjust plans as necessary to meet objectives.
-    Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear and consistent communication, understand client needs and objectives, align project deliverables to meet those requirements, and manage client expectations and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
-    Lead a team of consultants, developers, and other professionals involved in the project, assign tasks and responsibilities, provide guidance and support to team members, and foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
-    Develop materials for holistic technology discussions with the client to identify most important issues and opportunities, brainstorm and propose potential solutions and determine priorities and timeline for implementation
-    Lead prepares client project proposals, clarifying objectives, scope, deliverables, approach, dependencies, roles and responsibilities, drawing input from the client, local client relationship managers, and functional teams
-    Design and deliver compelling presentations to illustrate findings, ideas, recommendations within consulting engagements and more broadly
-    Manage execution of one or more project engagements, building client relationships, utilizing governance frameworks and mitigating / resolving complex problems that emerge
-    Identify solutions and recommendations that address client objectives and result in performance improvement, leverage relevant VCA methodologies, frameworks and global best practices

This role will support key clients across Korea. The role will help to scale our Managed Services capabilities which will support Visa’s ambition of diversifying our revenue. 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Having already accumulated a variety of experience, you will be curious about the payments industry and keen to work alongside an experienced team in gaining a deeper understanding. You will be client driven, comfortable managing a project end to end and relishing the opportunity to work closely with clients to influence their future performance.

Specific skills and experience you will bring are:

- 10 years of work experience in professional areas
- Experience in the payments, mobile, software, hardware, technology services or IT consulting industry
- Technical knowledge of payment technologies related to authorization, clearing & settlement, gateways / PSP’s, risk management, tokenization, EMV 3DS, etc.
- Experience in planning, managing and delivering on complex cross functional projects from conceptualization to launch including implementation
- Flexible and proactive trouble-shooting capabilities with the ability to manage diverse groups organized within different organizational reporting lines
- Strategic thinker who can balance big picture strategy and detailed, flawless execution
- Strong team orientation with a collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style, able to work effectively in a matrixed organization
- Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and written capabilities
- Self-motivated, results-oriented individual with the ability to progress multiple priorities concurrently
- Flexible mindset to revise plans and scopes while managing internal and external expectations
- Project management skills and ability to handle multiple initiative simultaneously often within target timeline
- Basic budget management and reporting
- Track record for technology related business development
- Fluent level English proficiency

- PMP certification or experience in technical project management
- Experience in customer experience design (using human-cantered design / design thinking)

Projects you will be a part of

Potential projects could include managed services to support client’s long term business journey, strategy development for new business agenda, new business/product/service development and go-to-market strategy, development of industry landscape evaluations to inform payments strategies, and optimization of client customer experience and supporting processes.
