AIR Communities uses industry leading technology for a modern approach to maintenance so our Maintenance Technicians can help as many residents as possible each day. Whether you are turning an apartment to create the perfect move-in experience for new residents or resolving service requests to ensure that our current residents feel at home, every day is filled with new challenges.

The Location: Nestled next to Mission Bay, Mariner's Cove is a short drive from Point Loma Beach and the San Diego River Bikeway. Live 15 minutes from Liberty Station, next to major interstates, and 7 minutes from Point Loma High School. 

What We Offer

AIR offers attractive compensation packages that reward hard work and excellent customer service including:

  • Expected hourly rate of $24.00 - $26.00 per hour. You will be provided a pay rate that is in line with your skills and experience as they relate to the requirements of the job.
  • Quarterly Customer Service Satisfaction Bonuses. Technicians who excel at consistently providing positive resident experiences can earn up to $1,500 per quarter.

What You Will Do

  • Provide excellent service to residents and assistance to team members.
  • Follow AIR’s process for completion of basic apartment turns to make the apartment ready for the next resident’s perfect move-in experience
  • With general direction, complete resident requested repairs and routine maintenance (i.e. troubleshoot and repair/replace plumbing, basic electrical components, HVAC equipment, and appliances, etc.)
  • May provide functional/technical direction and training to other Maintenance Technicians and support the development of technical skills.
  • May assist with managing vendor quality and may perform move-in/move-out inspections.
  • Responsibilities vary based on team member skillset and community needs, mechanical systems, and season.

What You Have

  • At least 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in some form of facilities or building environment
  • Proficient skills in at least two technical trades (plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, 7-day work weeks (depending on community needs and seasonality), and on-call shifts (at least one week a month).
  • A reliable mode of transportation to respond to emergency service requests while on-call after hours.
  • Comfort with physical activity as you must be able and willing to move heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

What You Need to Know

Application Deadline: The initial deadline for applications is 03/20/2025. Applications submitted after this date may still be considered on a rolling basis until the position/program is filled. Candidates extended an offer will be required to undergo pre-employment screening that includes checking references, a four-panel drug screening that excludes marijuana testing, employment verification & criminal background check.
